Executive statement
AI agents don't click through interfaces. They act through APIs. More and more software will be used by other software, so a company's API, and the MCP layer that exposes it to agents, is becoming its real front door. Products with clear, well-governed contracts get integrated, automated and recommended. The rest get left out. I help companies design their API strategy, contracts and lifecycle so that developers, partners and AI agents can all rely on them. I'm a member of the JSON Schema Technical Steering Committee (the standard behind OpenAPI and MCP), co-authored an O'Reilly's book, did award-winning research at the University of Oxford, worked at key API companies such as Postman, and built tools that serve Fortune 100 enterprises and diverse government agencies around the world.
Leadership scope
As one of the first employees, I served as an Engineering Lead at an IoT London-based startup (over $30M raised, investors including OpenView and GE Ventures), helping it grow from 10 people to over 100+ across 4 office locations, and leading several of its teams. I also developed and maintained Etcher, a 30k+ stars GitHub project that referred a significant amount of logins to the key product.
Selected outcomes
- Guided a major European energy company on designing its own JSON Schema meta-schemas and custom vocabularies for an internal schema data model.
- Designed a schema validation library to speed up API request/response validation in high-throughput systems by at least 10x compared to other alternatives.
